Bhubaneswar: The winter session of the Odisha Assembly was adjourned sine die on Thursday, 16 days ahead of schedule.
The session of the House had begun on December 1 and was supposed to end on December 31.
Only four bills were passed in the House while there was a discussion on one issue during adjournment motion brought by the Opposition.
The decision to adjourn the house was criticized by the opposition BJP and Congress.
Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra said the Congress was not in favour to the proposal of the government chief whip to conclude the session much in advance.
Leader of the BJP Legislature Party KV Singhdeo also echoed with the opposition leader.
Refuting the allegation of the Opposition, BJD spokesperson Amar Prasad Satpathy said the decision to adjourn the House sine die was taken with the consent of the opposition parties.
