BJP, Congress demand action against BMC Mayor on sex slur charges

Bhubaneswar: The opposition Congress and BJP on Thursday stepped up attack on Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena after a sex video allegedly involving him went viral on social media.

Pradesh Mahila Congress President Sasmita Behera filed an FIR with the Capital Police Station here against the BMC Mayor.

BJP demanded the resignation of Mayor Jena by tonight. They threatened to demonstrate a rally before the Commissionerate Police Headquarters on Friday if he doesn’t resign.

Bhubaneswar District BJP President Harekrushna Khuntia said the party would continue to protest until necessary action is taken against the Mayor.

Meanwhile, Jena filed a counter FIR against Student Congress President Itish Pradhan and Niakhunta proprietor Pradip Pandey.

Notably, the Student Congress President released a video in which the BMC Mayor was allegedly caught while getting intimate with a woman.
