Odisha Govt receives 1,247 suggestions for Annual Budget

BHUBANESWAR:  The Odisha Government has received a total 1,247 suggestions through various modes from public, civil society, advocacy groups and stakeholders for the formulation of Annual Budget, 2016-17.

The last day of receiving suggestions was January 15.

“Glad to know 1247 suggestions were received from public for budget 2016 -17. I have asked Finance Dept to analyse all suggestions & brief me,” tweeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The  Government had  launched a web page and an SMS number to accept suggestions from the general public to increase their participation in budget preparation.

The Center for Excellence in Fiscal Policy & Taxation (CEFT) has been engaged for analysing these suggestions.
