PURI: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Friday created a sand sculpture welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will visit Odisha on February 7.
Pattnaik has created the sand art with message “Welcome to Odisha, and I pray for India” at Puri beach of Odisha.
He created the sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath and Jagannath temple with the slogan of Prime Minister, “Swachha Bharat, Make in India, Digital India, Skill India, Smart City” and the face of Modi.
Pattnaik has used about 6 tonnes of sand with some colour sand to make this sculpture. Students of his sand art institute joined hand with him to complete the art.
“I want to welcome our Prime Minister through my sand sculpture to Sri Jagannath Dham, and I also pray to Lord Jagannath that he will bless Modiji to succeed in his campaign ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, said Sudarsan Pattnaik.
Narendra Modi will inaugurate the refinery plant of IOCL at Paradip and NISER, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on February 7. He will also have the darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
So far, Padma Shri awardee sand artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 50 international sand art championships and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country. He always tries to spread awareness through his sand sculptures.
