PM invites Sudarsan to open sand art institute in Gujarat


PURI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday invited internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik to train the youngsters of Gujarat about sand art.

“The Prime Minister invited me to train the youngsters of Gujarat about sand art. I have promised PM to go Gujarat and open a sand art training institute and train the youngsters there,” said Pattnaik.

During the visit of Narendra Modi to Sri Jagannath temple in Puri for the first time after becoming Prime Minister, Pattnaik presented a sand art photo of Lord Jagannath, which was created by him during the Nabakalebara festival.

He said it is a great honour for me to meet the Prime Minister.

PM said to Sudarsan that he know him very well and have seen “Welcome to Odisha” sand art.
He praised Sudarsan for his sand art on current topics and social issues.
“Welcome to Odisha” sand art was created by Patnaik on Friday.

So far Padma Sri awardee sand artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 50 international championships and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country.
