Odia Actor Raja’s Death: Police Return Belongings

BALASORE: The police on Saturday recorded the statement of the mother of Odia television actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja, who committed suicide on February 7 night after performing a musical programme along with fellow actor Pralipta Priyadarshini Samal.

The police have returned the belongings of Raja recovered after his death. The belongings include a gold ring, ATM card and wristwatch.

Notably, Odia actress Jessy was arrested on charges of abetting Raja to commit suicide.

Raja jumped to death from a bridge in Soro area of Balasore on February 7 night.

The Odia actor Raja was declared brought dead to the SCB Medical College and Hospital with two broken hands, several broken ribs and a severely damaged liver. His body also bore several injury marks.

District sessions court would hold the bail plea hearing of Jessy on March 1.
