Accident, Suicide or Murder? Mysterious Deaths In Ollywood

Odia film industry is not new to mysterious deaths; some cases remain a mystery even after the case is closed.

The celebrities who died a sudden and tragic death led to conspiracy theories around their mysterious demise.

The death of young stars has always left the film fraternity perturbed at their sudden, shocking deaths.

Ranjit Patnaik

The death of popular Odia actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja last month has left the Ollywood industry and his follower shocked. He died after allegedly falling from a bridge after returning from an event in Bhadrak district. While the death mystery is yet to be resolved whether it was an accident or suicide, police arrested Odia actress Pralipta Priyardarsini alias Jessy for instigating Raja to commit suicide. The court has granted conditional bail to Jessy.

Papu

Popular Odia actor Subhakanta Sahu, better known as Papu, was found hanging at a house at the old town area in Bhubaneswar on March 22, 2008. He is suspected to have committed suicide.
The body of the 27-year-old actor was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a room, the doors of which were locked from inside.
Papu had worked in some Odia albums besides playing the lead role in the popular Oriya serial ‘Parichaya’. He had also played a side role in Oriya film ‘Prathama Prema’ in 2006.

Sumant Mohanty

Promising music director Sumant Mohanty was found murdered in October 2008 under mysterious circumstances.
At 35, Mohanty was a promising name in music circle. He had directed several Odissi songs and music of television serials.
