BHUBANESWAR: After a lady claimed to be the daughter-in-law of Champua MLA Sanatana Mahakuda filed an FIR before police alleging that she was not allowed to stay with her husband, the statement of Pankaj Mahakuda, son of the MLA, was recorded in a local court here on Monday.
The statement of Pankaj has been recorded under Sec 164 of IPC in Bhubaneswar judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) court on Monday.
However, MLA’s son did not talk to the waiting media over the issue after coming out from the court.
It is to be noted that Kabita Mahakud, who claims to be the daughter-in-law of Sanatan Mahakud and wife of Pankaj, had alleged that the Champua MLA had threatened her to stay away from her husband.
On March 4, Kavita had recorded her statement and urged the police to summon the MLA and his son to the police station for questioning.
Kabita had already produced related documents including marriage-related documents and her daughter’s school admission certificate substantiating her relationship with Pankaj.
