17 Killed, 2 Injured In Lightning In Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: At least 17 people died, and two sustained burn injuries at separate places in Odisha as lightning struck them on Wednesday.

Besides, the hailstorm hit several parts of the state uprooting trees and electric poles.

Four persons were killed on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar while three were injured.

While three persons were killed at Keradagada under Patamundai in Kendrapada district, two were killed in Chandabali area due to lightning. Two persons were killed and two injured in Rasagobindpur area. The Lightning claimed two in Ganjam and two in Mahakalpada of Kendrapada.

Meanwhile, rain lashed many parts of the state bringing much-needed relief from the scorching sun.
