Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday asked the district collectors to expedite execution of mini stadium projects in the state.
In a letter to the collectors, Sports and Youth Affairs secretary Saswat Mishra asked them to monitor the construction of mini stadium projects for their competition by September this year.
During a review meeting taken by the Chief Minister recently, the district collector had assured to complete 120 mini stadium projects by September this year.
Sources said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would dedicate all these projects in the first week of October this year.
The state government has set a target to complete 250 mini stadiums by December.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi asked the district collectors to sort out the land identification problems and complete the construction process by December.
