Odisha To Set Up Public Libraries Across State


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to set up public libraries in the state.

The state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday approved the Odisha Public Libraries Rules, 2016 in order to establish a  network of public libraries in the state.

The government would establish public libraries starting from state level to district level and Panchayat level, said Tourism and Culture Secretary Manoranjan Panigrahi.

A public library council would be set up at the state level to manage all the libraries.
