Umesh Singh Is New ECoR General Manager


Bhubaneswar: Umesh Singh, an officer of Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) of 1979 batch, has taken over the charge of General Manager, East Coast Railway.

Before this posting, Singh was holding the post of Additional Member (Railway Stores) at Railway Board, New Delhi, said a statement.

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Umesh Singh also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Southern Cross University, Australia. He started his career in 1981.

 

Umesh Singh was Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Bhavnagar, Western Railway and at Raipur, South East Central Railway.

He also held the charge as Controller of Stores on East Coast Railway and North Central Railway. Singh has worked as Divisional Railway Manager in Izatnagar Division, North Eastern Railway. He was Additional General Manager at South Central Railway, Secunderabad, the statement said.

In his earlier stint as Controller of Stores, East Coast Railway, Umesh Singh has been instrumental in optimizing the performance standards in both material management and sales management.

His innovative ideas led to obtaining the most competitive rates for purchasing various materials with absolute transparency.

Umesh Singh is credited with introducing the Google mapping system with photographs to enable the bidders of scrap purchase in a transparent manner. This has opened up opportunities to a large number of scrap purchasers globally.

He introduced the new system of procurement called “Reverse Auction Mode” system, which has helped Indian Railways to obtain the most competitive rate for purchasing various materials with absolute transparency.

    I am a professional reporter of Dharitri daily news paper and I don’t have any knowledge about contacting . for the first time I qualified for Tender work and I finished my painting job within due period before your Inspection to 77 Bridge at Arang Mahandi on Jan-2017. Sir beg state that for above work I had received SALIMAR SILVER PAINT from Raipur against my bankers cheque . Till date my bill has hold at Sambalpur Division account section and the Raipur party’s are tomorrow going to baunce my cheque . So my request please save me at the trouble movement.
