Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said stringent action would be taken against the persons found guilty in the SUM hospital fire mishap, which claimed 21 lives so far.
He informed that five persons including the owner of the hospital have already been arrested while a Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) probe has been ordered.
“As I said stringent action would be taken against the persons whoever found guilty,” Patnaik told reporters responding to a question on whether he would take action against the Health minister.
The Chief Minister is in New Delhi to hold a meeting with the envoys of different states for the Make in Odisha conclave scheduled to be held at Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the BJP on Thursday took out a rally in Bhubaneswar demanding the resignation of Chief Minister and sacking of Health minister for helping the hospital to run it without having fire safety certificate.
