SUM Hospital Fire Mishap Death Toll Rises To 24

Bhubaneswar: The death toll in the SUM Hospital fire mishap has increased to 24 on Friday after another person undergoing treatment succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police took arrested Manoj Nayak, owner of the hospital, on a two-day remand.

He will be questioned on how he renewed the registration to operate the hospital without having a fire safety certificate, said police.

Meanwhile, the police have taken some supporters of Manoj Nayak into custody after they attacked the media persons, who were at the Jharpara jail to cover the remand of Nayak.
