Lady Maoist Surrendered In Rourkela

Rourkela: A woman Maoist cadre, who carries a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on her head,  surrendered before Rourkela police on Monday.

Palo Honhanga alias Bharati(42), who belongs to Baliba village under West Singbhum (Jharkhand), had been picked up by a lady Maoist named  Rekha(Cultural Secretary) forcibly and inducted into Maoists group under the leadership of Chaman in the year 2012.

She was working in Kolhan area of Chaibasa, Jharkhand. She left the outfit after getting disillusioned with Maoist ideology, said police.

Palo was promised money to work in the Maoist organization but did not get it.

Since Palo was attracted towards rehabilitation scheme of Odisha government, she  surrendered before Rourkela police and 19 BN, CRPF on Monday.

Her  daughter named  Sapna alias Muni, had  surrendered before  Rourkela police earlier in 2015.

“She has surrendered before us. The screening committee and thereafter rehabilitation committee will examine about her activities. Then we will decide about her rehabilitation package,” said S.C. Jamadar,  Additional SP, Rourkela.
