Bhubaneswar: The International Sand Art Festival and Konark Dance Festival will begin on December 1.
While the Konark Festival will be held at the magnificent Sun Temple and the sand art festival will be held at the Chandrabhaga Beach from December 1 to December 5.
One of the biggest classical dance festivals of the country, Konark Festival will bring together famous names including Madhavi Mudgal, Kishore Musolkanti, Nina Prasad, Meera Das, Jyotsna Sahoo, A Lakshamanswamy, Asim Bandhu Bhattacharjee, Pitambar Biswal and Priti Patel.
From the flowing Odissi to the majestic Manipuri, the festival will offer presentations in six classical dance forms during the five-day event.
In the International Sand Art Festival, international sand artists from the UK, Netherland, Singapore, USA, and Russia apart from many national level artists will take part.
Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has been declared as brand ambassador for 5th International Sand Art Festival.
It is expected that thousands of people would gather to witness the international level events. The visitors would enjoy the making process of a sand art.
The twin fest will also coincide with Make in Odisha, the biggest ever investment conclave in the state, which kicks off on November 30. About 500 delegates of the conclave are scheduled to witness the Konark Festival on December 1.
