Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of BJP on Monday observed a two-hour ‘Chakka Jam’ in all the municipalities and notified area councils (NACs) across the state demanding a high-level probe into the mysterious death of Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi and links with the sex video.
The saffron party observed halted vehicular movement in the urban local bodies for two hours from 10 am to 12 noon.
They demanded the resignation of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Anant Narayan Jena for his alleged involvement in a sex video and in the mysterious death of Rishi, an engineering student of Centurion University.
“The Chief Minister should immediately intervene and order for a high-level probe into the murder and the controversial sex video clip. A forensic examination of the video should be done at a central laboratory,” said BJP state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan.
He said if the state Government fails to wake up to the situation, the party will intensify its agitation.
Meanwhile, the state unit of Congress also decided to intensify its agitation against BMC Mayor. It demanded the resignation of Jena for a fair probe.
