Will unearth truth in sex video, Rishi death case: Khurania

Bhubaneswar: Police Commissioner YB Khurania on Tuesday denied that they have any external pressure to hush up the evidence in relation to the mysterious death of Rishi and BMC Mayor’s alleged sex video.

“We are probing under no pressure. I would request the people to give us some time… we will bring the truth to fore,” Khurania told media persons here.

Meanwhile, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) state unit president Itish Pradhan and proprietor of niankhunta.com Pradip Pandey appeared before the Capital police on Tuesday.

However, the statement of Pradhan couldn’t be recorded as police let him go on health grounds.

Notably, Pradhan got injured during a clash between Congress activists and policemen at Rajmahal Square here earlier in the day.

He will again appear before police after his recovery, police sources said.

Similarly, Pandey deposed before the police and was asked to reappear on December 27. He was provided with a copy of the FIR which was lodged by the Mayor against him and Pradhan at Capital police station.

“We hadn’t mentioned the name of any person in the video. We had only asked viewers to identify the person in the video,” Pandey said.

“The video has links with the murder of Rishi and his friends and lover should be questioned regarding the incident. Rishi’s death is not unnatural. The video is two years old and there is proof that Rishi had kept the video,” he said.

Notably, a case was registered against Pradhan and Pandey on December 16 on the basis of a complaint filed by BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena at the Capital police station for maligning his reputation. The BMC Mayor has also moved the court and filed a defamation suit against the duo.
