Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is in the process of preparing a roadmap to attract investments in the health sector, said an official on Thursday.
The road map would be prepared to keep an eye on the Healthcare Investment Promotion Policy. To promote private sector investment in the healthcare sector through a strategic partnership, the state government recently unveiled the policy.
Holding a meeting with senior officials of health department recently, the department secretary Pramod Kumar Meherda asked to prepare the road map for attracting investment in the healthcare sector.
In the policy, the state government has identified 11 out of 30 districts of the state as priority districts to ensure quality healthcare services in these districts.
The districts are Bolangir, Boudh, Gajapati, kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada and Sonepur.
Hospital and healthcare projects will be promoted in these districts with the support of private sector investments, the official said.
Investments in the healthcare sector in priority districts shall be facilitated with incentives available in the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2015 and shall be treated at par with the priority sector investment.
The state government will provide priority in the allocation of land for new hospitals in the priority districts.
