Rajya Sabha by-poll: Pratap Deb files nomination

Bhubaneswar: Pratap Keshari Deb on Monday filed his nomination as BJD candidate for the by-poll to the lone vacant Rajya Sabha (RS) seat from Odisha.

Deb filed his nomination before the Assembly Secretary cum Returning Officer in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, several ministers, and senior BJD leaders.

The bye-election to the RS seat is scheduled to be held on May 25.

The ruling BJD is all set to win the RS seat as it enjoys a thumping majority in the assembly. It has 117 members out of 147 seats in the Assembly.
