Probe ordered against KIIT, KISS for violating environment laws

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has ordered a probe into the alleged violation of environment laws by KIIT and KISS in Bhubaneswar.

Action on a petition of human rights activist Subash Mohapatra, the Forest and Environment department has asked the state pollution control board and Khurdha district collector to probe into the matter.

Mohapatra alleged that buildings have been constructed for the institutions by violating Environment Impact Assessment notification 2006.

He said buildings have been constructed for five lakh people without taking environment measures.
