Bhubaneswar: Medicine stores across Odisha will remain closed for 24 hours on Tuesday as Utkal Chemists and Druggists Association has extended its support to the strike called by All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists.
The association has been protesting the online sale of medicines and e-portal by Central government for medicines.
As patients will suffer following the strike, the state government has directed authorities of government hospitals to be in readiness with medicine stock under the Niramaya scheme.
Health secretary Pramod Kumar Meherda said adequate medicines have been kept in reserve.
