Balasore: India on Thursday successfully test-fired homegrown supersonic interceptor missile capable of killing incoming enemy ballistic missiles at an altitude of 30 km.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) test fired the weapon system from Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast in Balasore district.
The Advanced Area Defence (AAD) interceptor missile achieved ‘direct hit’, destroys the incoming ballistic missile, a modified version of Prithvi-II over the Bay of Bengal.
