Odisha govt extends deadline for pre-budget 2018-19 suggestions

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday extended the deadline for the public to submit their suggestions on preparation of annual Budget 2018-19 by one more week till January 17.

The timeline has been extended following demand from various quarters to participate in the budget consultation.

“Finance Department is happy to note that people, in general, have made use of the facility and have submitted their suggestions in good numbers. Finance Department expresses gratitude to the people for their participation in the process,” said a release.

However, demand from various quarters is received to extend the timeline for submission of the budget suggestions. Keeping in view the pressing demands, the facility would now be extended for another one week,till 17th January 2018.

Finance Department, which has been holding consultation with a cross-section of the society, had invited suggestions in a structured format to be used as an input in the process of preparation of Annual Budget 2018- 19.

Suggestions can be sent by e-mail to the address odisha.Budget@gov.In. Similarly, suggestions for Budget were also invited through WhatsApp. Telegram and SMS to the Mobile number (+91)9438161111. This facility was made available from 23rd December 2017 to 10th January 2018.

Members of the public, civil society organisation, advocacy groups and other stakeholders are requested to make use of this opportunity to participate in the budget-making process of the state government.
