State song status to ‘Vande Utkala Janani’ after studying policies of other states

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government would take a decision on according state song status to ‘Vande Utkala Janani’ after studying the policies of other states, said Culture and Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Saturday.

“Vande Utkala Janani song is adored by every Odia.TThe government will take a decision to accord state song status to it after studying the policy and the status of state song given by other states,” said the Minister.

Notably, several cultural organisations and political parties demanded state song tag for ‘Vande Utkala Janani’.

The song ‘Vande Utkala Janani’ is written by Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra.
