Odisha govt gives in-principle approval for airport at Dhamra

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has given in-principle approval to set up a commercial airport at Dhamra in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, said an official on Tuesday.

It was decided at a meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Tuesday.

The state government has planned to develop port-based industries at Dhamra.

Notably, the Adani Group has proposed to set up an airport at its Dhamra Port in Odisha to speed up air connectivity in the state.

The airport coupled with the LNG terminal and becoming part of the proposed coastal economic zone would make the port biggest in the country.
