Rahul directs to finalise candidates by Feb-end

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday asked the state party chiefs to finalise the list of candidates for the ensuing Assembly and Lok Sabha polls by the end of February.

“We have been instructed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi to finalise the candidate list by the end of February,” informed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Niranjan Patnaik.

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday held a meeting of the party’s general secretaries, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents and leaders of the Congress legislature party at the Congress War Room at Rakab Ganj Road in New Delhi.

PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and leader of the Opposition Narasingha Mishra attended the meeting.

Strategies regarding booth management, publicity and assessment plans of the state for general elections, among others were discussed at the meeting in AICC headquarters.
