Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Transport Department has issued record 57,238 Learner’s Licenses after the implementation of amended Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.
The Learner’s Licenses 9LLs) have been issued between 1st September and 19th September.
The department said the new applicants have to apply for LL online by visiting: https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan and carry required documents during visit to camp offices.
There are about 1.41 lakh applicants still in the queue to obtain LLs. During last year, only 3.53 lakh LLs were issued in the state.
After the implementation of the new MV Act, there is heavy rush at regional transport offices to get LLs.
Taking into account the heavy demand, the Transport department has increased the number of counters and increased the slot beyond office hours and the offices are even kept open on holidays.
Learner’s Licenses issued in Odisha
RTO Bhubaneswar-II has issued highest 6,344 LLs followed by RTO Bhubaneswar-I, which issued 5,005 LLs. RTO Cuttack issued 3,513 LLs and RTO Chandikhole issued 3,243 LLs between 1st September and 19 September.
