Ravan Podi 2019 in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Glittering pandals and huge effigies of Ravan are ready for Ravan Podi or Ravan Dahan on Dussehra in Odisha.

The preparations are in final stage for Ravan Podi 2019 in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on the occasion of Vijayadashmi 2019.

The Commissionerate Police has identified five places for Ravan Podi in Bhubaneswar.

The Rabana Podi will be held at Jharpada, Baramunda, Nayapalli and Naharkanta while fireworks will take place at Jharpada and Baramunda only.

Besides, the commissionerate police has made arrangements for Ravan Podi 2019 at the Balijatra ground in the millennium city of Cuttack. It has also regulated the traffic in the twin cities and issued an advisory for the commuters.

Dussehra 2019 will come to an end with the burning the effigy of demon king Ravana on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami 2019.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished the people on occasion of Vijaya Dashami on Tuesday.

“Warm greetings to all on Dussehra. May this celebration of victory of good over evil lead us all on path of truth and justice,” tweeted the Chief Minister.
