Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday unveiled the draft Jagannath Heritage Corridor Architectural Plan.
He also invited views of the general public on the draft plan by January 15, 2020. Members of the public can send their suggestions through email jagannath.or@nic.in.
The final architectural plan of the heritage corridor would be published in the month of February.
The draft plan is only for beautification and development of the periphery area of the Lord Jaganath Temple.
The draft architectural plan for security and functionality of the Temple would be prepared by an expert group having experience in such activities.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the people who have sacrificed their land and home for the Jagannath Heritage Corridor.
“The names of all who have donated their land for this great project will be engraved for eternity in the heritage corridor,” said Patnaik.
The land acquired for the Jagannath Heritage Corridor Architectural Plan would be recorded in the name of Lord Jagannath.
The state government has vacated land up to 75
meters around the temple for security and beautification reasons. Houses, structures, and mutts falling
on land within a radius of 75 meter from the temple have been evicted and
cleared.
