Youth Congress, NSUI protest Odisha govt’s ban on creating new jobs

Bhubaneswar: Members of Youth Congress and National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the students’ wing of Congress, on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar protesting the Odisha government’s decision on not to create new govt posts.

The government has announced several austerity measures including ban on creation of new posts and new schemes due to the economic downturn following Covid-19 pandemic.

“The state government’s decision to halt the recruitment process will severy affect the educated youths in the state.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik can’t throw the live of the youths into darkness,” said senior Congress leader Suresh Routray, who pariticipated in the demonstration.

 He also demanded revocation of the decision.
