Odisha to move Centre to implement Swaminathan committee recommendations on MSP

Bhubaneswar: Amid the farmers’ stir to repeal the new farm laws enacted by the Centre, the Odisha cabinet on Wednesday resolved to move the Union Government requesting to implement the recommendations of the MS Swaminathan committee regarding MSP of all crops in the interest of farmers.

The state government considers MSP as an important tool for income generation of farmers.

The income of farmers needs to keep pace with growth of income in other sectors and the rise in the costs of cultivation.
