Bhubaneswar: The reunion of ‘BJB Friends’, a students’ association of BJB Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar, was held on December 17.
After a torch procession of members of BJB Friends, which started from Barunei Hills and reached the BJB College, floral tributes were paid to Baxi Jagabandhu and Mahatma Gandhi on the college premises.
Former students of BJB College Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Ashok Parija, Advocate General of Odisha, Ashok Chandra Panda, Science and Technology Minister, Amar Patnaik, Rajya Sabha member, Harun Rashid Khan, former Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India, former Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker Bibhuti Bhusan Singh Mardaraj lit the lamps marking the beginning of the celebration.
In the beginning, President of ‘BJB Friends’ Debasis Patnaik delivered the welcome address while Secretary Satyabrat Dhupal presented the annual report.
On this occasion, Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Ashok Parija, Advocate General of Odisha were felicitated by BJB Friends for their stupendous achievement in their career.
The meritorious students, who secured the highest marks in arts, science and commerce streams of BJB College this year, were also felicitated while Vishal Parija was presented a special trophy for his all-rounder performance. Similarly, the meritorious contestants of the quiz competition organized on December 2 were also felicitated.
Souvenir 2023 of the association was unveiled on this occasion and various cultural programs were also organized.
On this occasion, BJB Friends Vice President Mr. Raj Kishore Chowdhury, Shyamsundar Patnaik, Kedar Patnaik, senior lawyers Manoj Mishra, and Sivananda Roy, Ashok Patnaik, Chitra Kanungo, Siddharth Shekhar Singh, Subhadarsini Mishra, Cini Mohanty, Pinky Pradhan and many old students attended the reunion and rekindled those old college memories once again.
