From Silver to Platinum: All you need to know about Nabin Odisha Magic Card

Bhubaneswar: In a move towards youth engagement and empowerment, the Odisha government is set to launch the futuristic “Nabin Odisha Magic Card.” This points-system based smart card is poised to revolutionize student recognition and provide a platform for them to achieve their dreams.

This has been announced by 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian during the Nua-O Scholarship Distribution Programme on Monday.

The Nabin Odisha Magic Card will serve as a “Passport to Prosperity” for students, with levels ranging from Silver to Gold and Platinum based on points earned through various activities and parameters. These activities include attendance, discipline, academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, sports, online courses, and personality development courses.

Every aspect of student involvement will be measured, honored, and valued through this points-system, recognizing achievements in academics, creativity, sports, and social/community work.

But the benefits of the Nabin Odisha Magic Card don’t stop there. Cardholders will gain access to a plethora of facilities and opportunities, including:

  • Concessions on bus, train, and flights
  • Phone/data recharge and Wi-Fi access
  • E-libraries and online academic courses
  • Personality development workshops
  • Coaching centers and tuition classes
  • Skill development courses
  • Career counseling
  • Language courses in Odia and English
  • “Earn While You Learn” opportunities
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Access to stadiums during national and international tournaments
  • Access to journals, seminars, tourist places, and museums

Furthermore, the card will open doors to job and placement opportunities by sharing student data with potential recruiting companies. It will also serve as a LinkedIn-type platform for students to interact with the industry and integrate with the start-up ecosystem, encouraging entrepreneurship among students.

The government is gathering input from students and teachers to continually enhance the points-system with new activities. The Nabin Odisha Magic Card will be a completely technology-driven initiative, marking a revolutionary concept in youth engagement and empowerment.

Excitingly, the online registration portal for the card will be launched on March 5th, 2024, with card distribution scheduled for August 15th. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to providing students with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the modern world.

The Nabin Odisha Magic Card represents a landmark initiative by the Odisha government to empower its youth and pave the way for a brighter future.
