Bhubaneswar: The Fitment Committee formed to fix the modalities for implementation of 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations has sought another 45 days to submit its final report, said an official on Friday.
“The Fitment Committee trying to build consensus so that all discrepancies can be avoided in implementing the 7th Pay Commission recommendations,” said R Balakarishnan, the chairman of the panel.
The committee was supposed to submit the report by today.
The state government had constituted a six-member committee in October to discuss with various stakeholders and recommend modalities for execution of the Pay Commission report.
The panel was first directed to submit its report within four months (by February 28). Later, it sought another two months to submit the report after it failed to meet the deadline.
Around four lakh state government employees and three lakh pensioners would benefit following the move.
