Sudarsan Pays Tribute To Mother Teresa Through Sand Art


Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture of Mother Teresa ahead of her canonisation in the Vatican on Sunday.

Mother Teresa will be declared a saint by Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church in a canonization ceremony in Vatican City.

Sudarsan has created the sand sculpture with message “Motherly love for all destitute”, at Puri beach of Odisha.

Pattnaik has created three faces of Mother Teresa depicting her different services to humanity. Pattnaik used about 4 tons of sand in this sculpture.

“I would like to pay tribute to the mother for her services through my sand sculpture. Today, students of sand art institution and local people present near the sculpture to pay rich tribute,” said Sudarsan.

So far, Padma awardee sand artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 50 international sand art championship and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country. He always tries to send social messages through his sand art.
