Odisha likely to receive heavy rainfall in next 24 hours, said the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Saturday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall during the next 48 hours as a depression formed over North Bay of Bengal.

Odisha has received an average rainfall of 207.9 mm during June this year against the normal rainfall (Long Term Average) of 216.5 mm, registering a deficit of four per cent.

High pressure over Bay of Bengal and cyclonic circulation over north Odisha, Jharkhand and gangetic West Bengal are likely to bring rainfall in several parts of Odisha till March 11.

Several parts of Odisha including the capital city witnessed light showers accompanied by a cool breeze in the morning on Wednesday.
