Death of Raja: Police quiz event manager, driver; Jessy untraceable

BALASORE: The Odisha police on Thursday quizzed event manager Pralay and driver Dhaneswar over the death of Ollywood actor and choreographer Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja while actress Jessy remained untraceable.

After the Soro police in Balasore had summoned the three to appear before it to record their statements over the death of Raja, Pralay and Dhaneswar appeared before the police while Jessy alias Pralipta Priyadarshini did not turn up to the police station.The Soro police have formed three teams to inquiry into the death of the television actor.

Police sources said the two were questioned about what happened during the event and in the car that led to the mysterious death of Raja.

A police team has reached the event place and is quizzing the programme organisers to unearth the truth behind the death of Raja.

Actress Jessy, Pralay and driver had accompanied Ranjit to the event at Taranga in Jamujhadi area under Simulia block. They were invited as guests to a theatre “Kalinga Kanya” on Saturday night.

Amiya Pattnaik, uncle of Raja, alleged that he suspects that his nephew has been murdered as the co-passengers who had accompanied Raja to an event in Bhadrak district on Saturday night were missing from the scene.
