Songs of Odia Movie ‘Thokool’ Make Wave On Deezer

BHUBANESWAR: With the Odia filmmakers shifting their focus to digital platform to promote their films and songs, the enchanting songs are making waves at the global level.

Songs of Thokool recently made it to the 72nd ranking on Deezer. Deezer is at web-based music streaming service. It made it to the position among top audio releases from all genres in Saudi Arabia.

Prashanta Nanda directedThokool. The movie was released in 2012. It stars Babusan and Archita in lead roles. Audio label Amara Muzik recently acquired the audio and video rights for the songs. The label had promoted the songs on music platforms including Deezer, said sources.

 The songs in Thokool have a touch of old-time music.

Thokool was the first Oriya film to be shot abroad. Two songs in the film were shot in Oman. The film abundantly explored the natural beauty of these locations.

The musical love story was an Indo-Oman project in which Babusan essayed a singer.
