Police Issue Circular Against SUM Hospital Owner

Bhubaneswar: The arrest of SUM Hospital owner Manoj Nayak is imminent as the Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued a lookout circular against Nayak and his spouse.

In connection with an investigation of Khandagiri police station case no.518/16, a look out circular (LOC) has been issued in respect of Manoj Nayak and Saswati Das, said Police Commissioner YB Khurania.

Both are the trustees of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Charitable Trust, which runs the hospital.

The Commissionerate Police has also written a letter to the Union Ministry informing about the circular so that they can flee the country.

Both are absconding after the fire mishap.

Notably, 21 persons have died in the fire mishap which occurred at the hospital on Monday evening.

The state government has lodged two FIRs with the Khandagiri police citing negligence by the hospital authority.
