Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday said the cyclone Kyant, which is brewing over the Bay of Bengal, will have no impact on the state as it is moving towards Andhra Pradesh coast.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday took a review meeting on the preparations to face any eventualities arising out of the cyclonic storm.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradipta Mohapatra said cyclone Kyant will have no threat on Odisha with the Indian Meteorological Department predicting that it may move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast.
He, however, said 14 district collectors in the coastal areas have been asked to stay alert.
He also said the leave of the government officials has been canceled as the state would experience rainfall on October 29-30.
