Youth Detained For Hurling Egg At Chief Minister

Baripada: The police on Wednesday detained a youth for allegedly hurling the egg at Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a meeting at Suliapada High School field in Mayurbhanj district.

Sources said the youth identified as Rushikesh Patra, a student of MPC Autonomous College and a student Congress leader, hurled the egg at the Chief Minister, who was on the dais in a meeting to lay foundation stones of various projects in the district.

The youth, who was in the gathering, threw the egg at the Chief Minister. However, it missed the target as the Patnaik was far away from the people.

After the incident, the BJD workers overpowered and thrashed the youth. Patra was later taken to police station.
