Bhubaneswar: The special CBI court here on Wednesday allowed the CBI to take Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay on six-day remand for interrogation into the Rose Valley group chit fund scam.
While the CBI appealed the court to take him on a 12-day remand, the special CJM court of CBI allowed it to take the TMC MP on six-day remand.
The central investigating agency had arrested Bandyopadhyay in Kolkata on Tuesday in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
Rajiv Majumdar, the advocate of the TMC MP, said CBI has to prove the allegation that Sudip has taken some amount from the chit fund firm.
He said the arrest was completely politically motivated.
