Rose Valley chit fund scam: TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay sent to judicial custody


Bhubaneswar: A special CBI court here on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay, who has been arrested for his alleged involvement in Rose Valley chit fund scam.

Rejecting the bail application, the CJM court of CBI sent him to judicial custody till January 25.

The central investigating agency had produced him before the court after his remand period concluded on Thursday.

The CBI had taken the TMC leader on 10-day remand on two occasions. While it had taken Bandyopadhyay on six-day remand a day after he was arrested from Kolkata, the special court extended the remand period for four more days.

Another TMC MP Tapas Pal is presently under judicial custody. He was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
