Bhubaneswar: Odisha likely to receive heavy rainfall in next 24 hours, said the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Saturday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over interior Odisha and heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over coastal region during the next 48 hours – IMD bulletin
Sarat Chandra Sahu, the director of Bhubaneswar meteorological centre said the upper air circulation in the Bay of Bengal near Bangladesh is causing rainfall in the state.
Meanwhile, sources in the IMD said that most places over north and interior Odisha have received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeter are at Jagatsinghpur (11 cm), Baripada (10 cm) and Jaipur (9 cm).
