20 feet long sandy Bina on Lata Mangeshkar’s birthday

Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture on the Birthday of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar with message “Happy Birthday Lata Didi” at Puri beach in Odisha.

Sudarsan has used about 7 tons of sand to create this 5ft high sand sculpture with 20ft long Bina on Lata Mangeshkar’s birthday.

“I created this sand sculpture on 90th birthday to wish Lata Didi who is known as the nightingale of India. She is one of the best known and most respected playback singers in India,” said Sudarsan.

Sudarsan said, “I pray Lord Jagannath for her long life and good health.”

So far, Padma awardee sand artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 60 international sand sculpture championships and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country.

He always tries to spread social awareness message around the world through his sculpture.
