Bhubaneswar: Schools will reopen for the students of classes X and XII across Odisha from July 26, said an official on Saturday.
School & Mass Education secretary Satyabrata Sahu said physical teaching for classes X and XII will begin from July 26.
It will be applicable to both the government and private schools in the state. The department will issue standard operating procedures for the reopening of the schools.
The decision to reopen schools and resume the physical mode of teaching was taken in view of the problems faced by students in online teaching mode due to poor internet connectivity in many places of the state.
Classes will be held from 10 AM to 1.30 PM. Schools will remain closed on Sundays and other government holidays, Sahu said.
The secretary informed that due to poor internet connectivity, only 40% of the students can be reached through online teaching while 60% remain unconnected.
