Egg hurling on health minister: Two Deogarh police officials suspended

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha police on Wednesday suspended two police officials over the incident of egg hurling on health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak during his visit to Deogarh district on Tuesday.

Police DG KB Singh suspended Deogarh IIC Sudarshan Jena while district SP Sarah Sharma suspended DSI of Health minister’s piloting vehicle for dereliction of duty in guarding the health minister’s vehicle, said sources.

Earlier on Wednesday, the police have arrested six persons including city Congress president of Deogarh for throwing eggs and tomatoes on health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak during his visit to the district.

The police have also nabbed Congress councillor Dharmendra Debta.

It is to be noted that some Congress workers have hurled eggs at the car of the health minister while he was on his way to Deogarh on Tuesday.
