New Delhi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday held a discussion with the BJD Parliamentarians ahead of the tripartite meeting on Mahanadi water issue.
The Chief Minister discussed the points to be raised in the tripartite meeting scheduled to be held on Saturday.
Addressing the BJD MPs, the Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh should stop ongoing construction on the upper catchment of Mahanadi river.
The tripartite meeting will be attended by the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Odisha and the Union Water Resources Minister.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh hoped that the meeting would resolve the water dispute between the two states.
He said Mahanadi is for both Chhattisgarh and Odisha and there is no controversy involved.
