Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the tenure of Commission of Inquiry constituted to inquire into the alleged incident of gang rape and subsequent suicide of Kunduli minor girl in Koraput district for another three months.
The Home Department has issued a notification to this effect on Monday. Initially, the Commission was asked to submit its report within three months.
The Koraput District Judge is probing the alleged gang rape of a minor tribal girl at Kunduli area in Koraput district on October 10 last year.
She had committed suicide on January 22 after being allegedly denied justice.
The Commission is enquiring into the sequence of events alleged to have led to the purported crime, the person(s) responsible for the incident and any other matter connected with the incident.
The girl had alleged that she was gangraped by a group of four men in uniform on October 10 last year while returning to her village from Kunduli market.
